Olympus Plastic™ Classic filter tips have been our most popular universal pipette tip over the past decade. Our 10ul filter tips are tried and true. Our proprietary ultra-low retention X-Resin minimizes the bonding of DNA and protein samples and outperforms competing tips with postproduction low-binding treatments. Our barrier tips are chemically inert and are not affected by common laboratory solvents, including chloroform, chloroethane and acetone. The increased distance between a full sample draw and the filter provides superior aerosol protection.

What is a pipette tip?
A pipette tip is a disposable attachment for a micropipette that is used for the uptake and dispensing of liquids.
Filter pipette tips are sterilized and contain an aerosol barrier. Non-filtered tips can be sterile or not and do not have a filter.
Aspirating samples can create an aerosol (fine mist) that can get into and contaminate the pipettor, which can lead to the cross-contamination of subsequent samples. A filter pipette tip provides an aerosol barrier to prevent pipettor contamination.
No, autoclaving will cause filter distortion that reduces its effectiveness as an aerosol barrier.
